Many of you are travelling a long way — and the UK has a great deal to offer beyond the New Forest. Whether you are arriving a few days early, staying on afterwards, or building a full trip around the wedding, here are our recommendations.
All destinations below are easy to reach from London. Most can be combined into a natural route south toward the New Forest for the wedding.

London - 2 to 4 days

through anyway, so it is well worth slowing down and spending a few days.
Must-sees

Tower of London: nearly 1,000 years of history, the Crown Jewels, and tours with the Beefeater guards. Book in advance.
-
Westminster: Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey (where kings and queens have been crowned since 1066). Walk along the Thames for the best views.
-

July is busy — book popular attractions well in advance.
-
Stay near Waterloo station for easy onward trains to the New Forest — Southbank and Lambeth areas are ideal.
